Ranchi, April 19 : Two masked men looted ₹1.67 lakh from a flower shop in Ranchi’s high-security Kanke Road area on Friday, holding the shopkeeper at gunpoint in a brazen daylight robbery captured on CCTV.

The incident occurred at ‘Fresh Petal,’ a store located in a neighbourhood that houses several top state officials, including the Chief Minister and the Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly. Security footage showed one of the robbers pointing a pistol at the shopkeeper while the other rifled through the premises and collected the cash.

The area has seen a rise in criminal activity, with the recent murder of BJP leader Anil Tiger at nearby Kanke Chowk on March 26 still fresh in public memory.

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo sharply criticised the state’s deteriorating law and order situation following the incident.

“Criminals are fearless here. They commit crimes whenever and wherever they want, without any fear,” Shah Deo said. “The law and order is completely left to fate. Look how the criminal is seen waving a pistol in the CCTV footage. Where is the authority of the law?”

The police have not yet confirmed any arrests related to the case. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and said further investigation is underway.
