Jamshedpur, July 5: Loyola School emerged as a dominant force at the CISCE Zonal Lawn Tennis Tournament 2025, which concluded on Saturday at XLRI, Jamshedpur. The two-day event brought together student-athletes from schools across the region and was marked by competitive spirit and disciplined play.
The tournament opened with a ceremony attended by Rev. Fr. Augustine Vattamattam, former Principal and Rector of Loyola School, who now serves at Guidera Niwas, XLRI. Fr. Vinod Fernandez, Principal of Loyola School, welcomed him with a sapling as a token of gratitude. Also in attendance were Fr. KM Joseph, Rector, along with tournament officials, referees, members of the press, and games teachers.
Loyola School athletes delivered strong performances across age categories, claiming top positions in several events:
- U-19 Girls (Singles): 1st – Namya Uppal; 3rd – Yashita
- U-19 Girls (Doubles): 1st – Samaira A. Doshi & Namya Uppal
- U-19 Boys (Doubles): 1st – Yashraj & Vinayak
- U-19 Boys (Singles): 2nd – Vinayak
- U-17 Girls (Singles): 1st – Kripa Bhatia
- U-17 Boys (Doubles): 2nd – Abhiyaan & Shreyash
- U-14 Boys (Singles): 2nd – Savar Sinha
Organisers praised the tournament for its smooth conduct and the players for their composure under pressure.
