Srinagar, November 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday carried out raids across the Kashmir Valley as part of an expanding investigation into what officials described as a “white-collar terror module” linked to this week’s deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort.
The raids, conducted by the police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit, took place at 13 locations and led to the detention of around 15 people for questioning. Officials said several digital devices and incriminating materials were recovered.
Security officials said the operations were aimed at dismantling a network suspected of providing logistical, financial and technical support to those involved in Monday’s explosion, which killed at least 12 people.
Separately, around 10 individuals, including three government employees, were picked up during overnight raids in Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam districts, officials said. These detentions form part of the broader probe into the alleged white-collar module, which investigators say involves educated professionals facilitating militant activity.
Police and other security agencies have intensified their crackdown on what they call the terror “ecosystem” in the Valley following the Delhi blast, increasing surveillance and conducting targeted searches.
Officials said seven people, including doctors, have already been arrested after a large cache of explosives was recovered earlier in the week. More than 200 individuals have been questioned so far as investigators attempt to map the network’s links, roles and sources of support.
Authorities have not disclosed further details, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation.
