Rebels torch mining vehicles, 1 youth injured

Ranchi, June 2: Suspected militants from the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TPSC) torched two vehicles belonging to a private mining company and opened indiscriminate fire in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district on Sunday night leaving a youth injured an triggering panic in the area.

The TSPC militants torched two vehicles in Pagaar OP Keredari of Hazaribagh district. Both the vehicles were deployed by BGR Mining for work in the KD coal project. First bullets were fired on both the vehicles. After that they were set on fire.

Incidentally, BGR Mining is involved in coal extraction under the Khalari-Dakra (KD) project of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL, a subsidiary of CIL).

Police have recovered a letter of TSPC sub-zonal commander Kaushal from the spot. In the letter, NTPC, CCL, L&T and DO holder companies have been warned that they will not be allowed to do any kind of work without contacting the organization.

After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in Keredari and surrounding areas. People are scared.
