Ranchi, June 5: Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) claimed to have bettered intermediate arts pass percentage this year.
It announced intermediate arts results on Thursday.
This time 95.62 percent of children have passed, which is much better than last year (93.16%). This time a total of 2,28,959 students had applied, out of which 2,27,222 took the exam and 2,17,273 students were successful. In this 1,07,867 passed in the first division. 1,04,314 in second division, 5,091 in third division and one passed.
Dev Tiwari of Sahibganj has become the state topper by securing 481 marks out of 500. He is a student of Plus Two J K High School Rajmahal.
This year the JAC Board 12th examination was conducted from 11 February to 4 March. Earlier, the board had released the matriculation result on 27 May and the Inter Science and Commerce results on 31 May. This time 79.26% students passed in Inter Science and 91.2% in Commerce.
Dev Tiwari has given the credit of his success to his parents and teachers, whose guidance has brought him this success. Dev said that he will continue studying to achieve his goal.

Dev is a resident of Basiyachak under Darla Panchayat of Rajmahal block area. His father Sanjay Tiwari is a priest and runs the family by performing puja-paath. His mother Tanushree Tiwari is a housewife.
