Deoghar, September 22: In a shocking incident, armed criminals looted an HDFC Bank branch in Madhupur, Deoghar, during broad daylight on Monday.
The gang of assailants held staff members hostage at gunpoint before escaping with cash and valuables.
According to eyewitnesses, the criminals first held the bank manager and employees at gunpoint before looting cash and jewelry. Several customers present at the time said the robbers remained inside for several minutes, threatening anyone who tried to move.
As per Police, initial investigations suggest that six people were involved. Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar confirmed that the gang not only looted cash but also looted gold and silver ornaments before fleeing the spot.

Police said they have launched a massive manhunt, with blockades at all entry and exit points of the city. They added that vehicles were being thoroughly checked and CCTV footage was under examination.
While the police have not officially revealed the amount stolen, employees claimed the loot could be over ₹1 crore.
The robbery has raised serious concerns about security arrangements in Madhupur, leaving residents shocked.
