Ranchi, July 15: PhysicsWallah (PW) Founder and CEO Alakh Pandey, popularly known as Alakh Sir, has donated more than 100 bicycles to students in Dhowapaat of Singho village in Jharkhand, providing much-needed support to children who travel four to five kilometres on foot every day to attend school.
The initiative was undertaken during Alakh Pandey’s visit to the region to inaugurate a free digital library at Laxmipur village in Tisri. While interacting with students, parents and local residents, he learned that the long daily commute had become a major obstacle for many children, often affecting their regular attendance in school.
To address the issue, Pandey distributed over 100 bicycles to students, enabling them to travel to school more conveniently while saving valuable time and energy. The initiative is expected to improve attendance, reduce the burden of long-distance travel and allow students to devote more time to their studies.
Speaking on the occasion, Alakh Pandey said, “Access to education isn’t only affected by the availability of learning resources but also by the practical challenges students face every day. I hope this small effort encourages them to keep studying, dream bigger, and move closer to the life they want to build.”
The bicycle distribution complements the inauguration of the free digital library, underscoring PhysicsWallah’s broader efforts to make education more accessible by addressing both academic and practical challenges faced by students in rural areas.
The initiative reflects Alakh Pandey’s continued focus on removing barriers to education and supporting students from underserved communities with resources that can make a meaningful difference in their learning journey.
