Ranchi, September 19: In a major reshuffle, the Jharkhand government has transferred 30 IPS officers, ranging from DGP level to district postings.
The biggest change came with DGP Anurag Gupta, who has been relieved of his responsibilities as DG of CID and ACB. For a long time, Gupta held charge of CID and Special Branch. He will now continue only as the DGP of Jharkhand.
Ranchi also witnessed a major change as Chaibasa SP Rakesh Ranjan has been appointed the new SSP of the state capital. Outgoing Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, who was recently promoted as DIG, has been shifted to the ACB as DIG. In Deoghar, IPS Saurav has been named the new SP.
Other important transfers include Wireless DG Prashant Singh, who gets the additional charge of DG Headquarters, and IPS Suman Gupta, who has been made Railway ADG. IPS Priya Dubey has taken over as ADG of ACB. Ranchi IG Manoj Kaushik will now also handle the charge of IG CID.
Several zonal IGs have been shuffled as well. Bokaro IG Kranti Kumar Gadhdeshi has been moved to IG Human Rights, while Dumka IG Shailendra Sinha is now the IG of Palamu. CID IG Sudarshan Mandal will serve as IG Headquarters and also oversee jails. Sunil Bhaskar takes over as Bokaro Zonal IG, and Patel Mayur Kanhaiyalal has been made Dumka Zonal IG.
Among DIG-level changes, Sanjeev Kumar has been posted to SIB, Shailendra Prasad Barnwal has been made DIG SIB, and Manoj Ratan takes over as DIG Special Branch. Palamu DIG Naushad Alam Ansari has been directed to join police headquarters.
At the SP level, several postings have shifted. Ajit Peter Dungdung, earlier SP Deoghar, has been sent to the Police Academy in Hazaribagh as Joint Director. IPS Arvind Kumar Singh becomes SP Special Branch, while Ehtesham Waqarib takes charge as CID SP. Amit Renu is the new Chaibasa SP, and Ajit Kumar has been moved from Ranchi City SP to Railway SP Jamshedpur.
Other changes include Deepak Kumar Pandey as SP Special Branch, Animesh Naithani as SP ACB, and Kailash Karmali as Railway SP Dhanbad. Manoj Swargiari has been posted as Commandant JAP-3 Govindpur, while Mumal Rajpurohit heads Zap-8. IPS Paras Rana is the new City SP of Ranchi with additional charge of JAP-10, and Rakesh Singh takes over as Ranchi Traffic SP with additional charge of Wireless SP.
The reshuffle is seen as one of the biggest in recent months, impacting key positions across CID, ACB, Ranchi, Deoghar, and several zonal ranges.
