Ranchi, June 30: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday expressed concern over persistent heavy rainfall across the state, warning of the environmental implications of such intense downpours early in the monsoon season.
Posting on social media platform X, Soren said the government is monitoring the situation closely and is fully committed to supporting affected residents. “The intensity of the rains at this stage is worrying and reflects shifting environmental patterns,” he noted.
Several areas across the state have reported waterlogging, disruption of daily life, and damage to property as heavy rains continued to lash the region, triggering flood-like conditions.
The Chief Minister released a video message reassuring citizens that the state administration is actively engaged in relief and rescue operations. He affirmed that the needs of those impacted are under the government’s full attention.
“We stand firmly with all those affected and are providing every possible assistance,” Soren said, adding that necessary steps were being taken promptly to manage the emerging challenges posed by the adverse weather. India’s monsoon season, which typically spans from June to September, brings vital rains but often causes widespread flooding and infrastructure damage in several states.
