Patna, September 30: Indian Railways will introduce seven new trains in Bihar on Monday, including three long-distance Amrit Bharat Express trains, aiming to enhance connectivity within the poll-bound state and improve travel options for passengers.
All seven trains will be operated and maintained by the East Central Railway (ECR) zone, with four trains serving intra-state routes connecting major cities and towns in Bihar. The remaining three Amrit Bharat Express trains will provide inter-state links to regions including Telangana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
The new intra-state services include the Danapur–Jhajha Fast Passenger, Patna–Buxar Fast Passenger, Patna–Nawadah DEMU Passenger, and Patna–Islampur DEMU Passenger, most of which will run six days a week, except Sundays. Key stops include Patna, Danapur, Ara, Bakhtiyarpur, and Sheikhpura.
The three Amrit Bharat Express trains are:
- Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, running once a week with 24 stops.
- Darbhanga–Madar Amrit Bharat Express, stopping at 31 stations.
- Chhapra–Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express, with 19 stops connecting Bihar to Delhi.
Indian Railways said the new services are expected to ease travel for commuters, strengthen regional connectivity, and contribute to economic growth in Bihar ahead of state elections.
