India sends all-party delegations abroad to rally support against Pakistan-backed terrorism

New Delhi/Moscow, May 23 – India has launched a wide-reaching diplomatic initiative, dispatching seven multi-party delegations to 33 countries to expose what it calls Pakistan’s links to terrorism and reaffirm its zero-tolerance policy toward cross-border militant attacks.

The global outreach follows a recent terrorist strike in Pahalgam and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps across the border. The Indian government says the delegations aim to present evidence of Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism and to build international consensus against what it terms “state-sponsored extremism.”

An eight-member delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi arrived in Moscow on Thursday. The group, which includes lawmakers from BJP, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, and National Conference, is visiting Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain. They are scheduled to meet senior Russian officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister and key lawmakers, as well as think tanks and media outlets.

Speaking to ANI upon arrival in Moscow, SP MP Rajeev Rai said, “Pakistan has become a danger not just to India but to the whole world. We are here to explain to our trusted friend Russia that global isolation of Pakistan is imperative.” Kanimozhi echoed the sentiment, saying the delegation has full confidence in Russia as a strategic ally in counterterrorism efforts.

A parallel delegation in the UAE, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, addressed the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi, asserting India’s firm stance. “Enough is enough. If anything happens to our citizens, we will hit back,” Shinde said. He emphasized the strong bilateral ties, noting that Indians make up about 40% of the UAE’s population.

BJP leader Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia added, “Blood and water will not flow together,” alluding to India’s hardened policy stance toward Pakistan.

In Japan, a delegation led by JD(U)’s Sanjay Kumar Jha included representatives from BJP, Congress, TMC, CPI(M), and former diplomats. The team met with envoys from Brazil, Australia, Colombia, Greece, and South Korea to push India’s case. BJP MP Dr. Hemang Joshi described the mission as a global call to expose “Pakistan-sponsored terror.”

Congress leader Salman Khurshid, also part of the Japan group, said the international response has been “very satisfying” and emphasized the need for sustained diplomatic engagement. “We want countries to be fully sensitized to our concerns and willing to support what is reasonable and viable,” Khurshid told reporters in Tokyo.

The delegations are expected to travel over a 13-14 day period, engaging with foreign officials, media, think tanks, and Indian communities abroad. Officials say the outreach is part of a broader narrative-building effort to shift international opinion and isolate Pakistan diplomatically.

“This is the new India,” BJD MP Sasmit Patra declared in Abu Dhabi. “We will not allow political differences to dilute our national message—one voice, one thought, one India.” Pakistan has not issued an immediate response to the outreach campaign.
