Ranchi, May 23: RIMS’s nephrology department conducted a medical examination of senior IAS officer Vinay Chaubey who was arrested recently in a multi crore liquor scam by the anti corruption bureau (ACB).
The examination confirmed a kidney disease called Membranous Nephropathy. This is an autoimmune disease in which the kidney’s filters (glomerulus) are affected.
If not treated on time, this disease can lead to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and eventually kidney failure. The patient needs measures like regular monitoring, medicines and possible biopsy. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the RIMS team is engaged in the treatment and care of Chaubey.
Meanwhile, DG ACB Anurag Gupta who is also the DGP Jharkhand held a meeting with ACB officials over a probe into the liquor scam.
