New Delhi, September 22: Jailed former cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has taken a dig at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, saying that he and Army Chief Gen Asim Munir should open the batting if Pakistan wants to beat India in cricket field.
Khan’s sarcastic remark came after India defeated Pakistan once again in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash in Dubai on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Khan’s sister Aleema Khan said Imran joked that Pakistan could only win against India if Gen Munir and PCB chief Naqvi opened the innings, while former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja act as umpires.
Imran, who led Pakistan to a World Cup victory in 1992, has been in prison since August 2023 on multiple charges.

Coming to the match, India comfortably chased Pakistan’s 172-run target, winning by six wickets with seven balls to spare.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India had earlier recorded a seven-wicket win in the group stage as well, finishing 25 balls ahead of the target.
