New Delhi, September 4: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) has launched Special Campaign 6.0 aimed at improving workplace cleanliness, strengthening e-waste management and enhancing operational efficiency, the company said on Friday.The initiative has been taken under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances’ “Waste to Wealth” theme and the Ministry of Coal’s focus on “E-Waste Management”.
ECL said the campaign will concentrate on four key areas — electronic waste management, reducing pending matters, better utilisation of office space and digitisation.A detailed action plan will be implemented in two stages.
The preparatory phase is scheduled from September 15 to September 30, while the implementation phase will run from October 2 to October 31.ECL Chairman and Managing Director Satish Jha formally launched the campaign and called for active participation from employees to ensure that its objectives are achieved.
Under the initiative, ECL will undertake systematic collection, segregation and responsible disposal of electronic waste. It will also step up efforts to resolve pending public grievances, appeals and communications received from various stakeholders, including MPs and state governments.
The company will identify obsolete and unused materials occupying office space and take steps for their disposal to improve space utilisation.
ECL also plans to expand digitisation and encourage paperless working practices as part of efforts to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Senior company officials, including directors, the campaign’s nodal officer, departmental heads and general managers from various ECL areas, attended the launch programme.
