Jharkhand cabinet approves 16 proposals, amends Maiya Samman Yojana eligibility

Only Aadhaar-linked single bank account holders to benefit from Mainiya Samman Yojana from March 2025; cabinet approves infrastructure and financial measures.

Ranchi, Mar 26: A cabinet meeting chaired by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren approved 16 proposals, including a key amendment to the Maiya Samman Yojana, officials said on Tuesday.

From March 2025 onwards, only Aadhaar-linked single bank account holders will be eligible for the scheme, the cabinet decided.

The government also approved the dismissal of suspended Jharkhand Administrative Service officer Sadhna Jaipuriar, who was serving as Block Development Officer in Manika, Latehar.

Among other approvals, the cabinet cleared the Jharkhand Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Special Exemption) Bill-2025 and granted post-deduction approval for the third supplementary expenditure statement for the financial year 2024-25. Budget estimates for 2025-26 and the presentation of the Jharkhand Economic Survey 2024-25 in the Legislative Assembly were also sanctioned.

The service regularization of six employees, as recommended by the Departmental Regularization Committee based on various High Court orders, received approval. The government also relaxed provisions related to limited competitive examinations for promotions within the Jharkhand Secretariat Service.

Financial assistance of ₹50,03,700 was sanctioned for the second phase of the digitization process in the office of the Principal Accountant General, Ranchi. Additionally, the formation of the Jharkhand Community Health Assistant Cadre (Recruitment, Promotion, and Other Service Conditions) Rules-2025 was approved.

In the construction sector, the cabinet granted approval for the payment of the GST rate difference in work contracts under the Water Resources Department, following the increase from 12% to 18% in July 2022.

The cabinet also provided post-deduction approval for the tripartite agreement (MoU) signed by the Principal Secretary-cum-Legal Advisor for the implementation of the third phase of the e-court project.

In-principle consent was given for the construction of Balpahari Barrage in the downstream of Balpahari Dam under the Balpahari Irrigation Scheme.
