Ranchi/New Delhi, July 17: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday night declared the results of NEET UG 2026, with Suharsh Kumar Gupta emerging as the Jharkhand topper by securing All India Rank (AIR) 455 with an impressive 99.97 percentile.
Among other high achievers from the state, Gyanendra Garv of Ranchi secured AIR 676 with a 99.96 percentile. Other notable performers include Akshat Prem (AIR 2034), Shakib Ahmed (AIR 2282), Mayank Kumar (AIR 3211), Vaishnavi Raj (AIR 3905), and Sarvjeet (AIR 4271).
Gyanendra Garv, Mayank Kumar, Vaishnavi Raj and Sarvjeet are students of JVM Shyamali, Ranchi, continuing the school’s strong performance in the national medical entrance examination.
At the national level, Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana jointly secured the top rank with 715 marks, while 19 candidates scored more than 700 marks.
The results also reflected a strong performance by female candidates, with girls accounting for 58 per cent of all successful candidates across the country.
According to the examination statistics, 138 candidates scored above 690 out of 720, and more than 93 per cent of them were appearing for NEET for the first time. Nearly 99 per cent of the top-ranked candidates were in the 17–19 years age group.
Nationwide, 1,492 candidates scored 650 marks or above, 10,160 scored 600 or above, while 90,780 candidates secured 500 or more marks.
The NTA said the timely declaration of results would enable the medical admission and counselling process to begin as scheduled. Candidates can download their scorecards from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
NEET UG 2026 was re-conducted following a paper leak, with nearly 20 lakh candidates from India and abroad appearing for the examination. The test was conducted at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
According to the NTA, around 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other allied medical courses, paving the way for the commencement of the nationwide counselling process.
