New Delhi, Aug 19: The Delhi government has promoted and given fresh postings to 111 officials of the Delhi Administrative Subordinate Services (DASS) cadre as part of efforts to strengthen administration and improve public service delivery, officials said on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the move was aimed at making the administrative system more efficient and accountable, particularly in departments that directly provide essential services to citizens.A significant number of the promoted officials have been appointed as deputy directors in the Education Department.
The government expects their placement to support the effective functioning and administration of Delhi’s school education system.Several officials have also been promoted as deputy medical superintendents at major government hospitals, including Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, GTB Hospital, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Others have been assigned deputy director posts in the Directorate of Health Services.In the Revenue Department, some officials have been posted as sub-divisional magistrates (headquarters) in different subdivisions. Others have been appointed as assistant commissioners in the Trade and Taxes Department.
The latest orders also include postings as deputy secretaries in the office of the Lieutenant Governor, the Law and Justice Department and the Directorate of Vigilance.Gupta said the promotions would provide government employees with better opportunities for career progression while addressing the issue of prolonged stagnation among Grade-I officials of the DASS cadre.
According to the government, the promotions have been facilitated by directions of the Delhi High Court and the ongoing process of cadre restructuring.The administration expects the new postings to strengthen manpower in key departments and contribute to faster and more effective delivery of government services.
