Patna, November 2: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday urged voters to support the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Assembly elections, saying the coalition has restored law and order and brought pride to the State over the past two decades.

In a video message posted by his party, Janata Dal (United), on social media platform X, Kumar said that “being a Bihari is now a matter of pride,” crediting his government for transforming Bihar since coming to power in November 2005.

“People knew Bihar before we came to power in 2005. We prioritised the restoration of law and order and established the rule of law in the State. Now, being a Bihari is a matter of pride for the residents,” he said.

The Chief Minister said his government had implemented several measures for the empowerment of women, Dalits, backward classes and weaker sections of society.

“And these efforts will continue further. Therefore, you must give another chance to the NDA for continuation of the development measures taken by the double-engine government with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Kumar added, using the term often invoked by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to describe State governments aligned with the Centre.

Kumar, who has led Bihar for most of the past two decades, has positioned the NDA’s campaign around law and order, governance, and development, pledging to make the State a “Vikshit Bihar” or developed Bihar.
