Ranchi, Jan 24: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) participated in the pre-budget meeting chaired by Jharkhand Finance Minister Dr Rameshwar Oraon on Tuesday.

Chamber President Kishor Mantri demanded the establishment of business trade centers in all the five divisions of the state. It was also said that initiative should be taken to open the closed mines in the state soon. With this, the government will get a revenue of Rs 10,000 crore annually. Iron-based industries in Jharkhand require lakhs of tonnes of iron ore per month.

The state government could have received crores of rupees through these mines. For the requirement of industries, ore has to be imported from other states due to which money from the state is going to other states.

It was also suggested by the Chamber that in financial year 2023-24, the budget should be increased for education and health sectors. In the absence of higher technical educational institutions in the state, the students of the state are going to other states for education, due to which there is brain drain from the state, and the revenue is also going to other states.

Similarly, due to lack of high-quality treatment facilities for serious diseases, people of the state go to Vellore and other states for treatment, due to which the money of the health sector is also going to other states. It is necessary that adequate budgetary provision should be made for higher technical educational institutions and better treatment facilities in the state.

Many other suggestions were also given, mainly including converting Khelgaon into a sports university, inviting IT sector companies in the state, giving a comprehensive look to the cold chain system.

Finance Minister Dr Rameshwar Oraon said that all suggestions of the Chamber would be considered. Along with this, suggestions were also invited on other options to increase the revenue collection of the state government, on which the Chamber President assured to inform other suggestions soon.
