Ranchi, November 13: The Jharkhand government has approved 18 key proposals during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the state secretariat.
Among the major decisions taken on Wednesday was the approval to convene the winter session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from December 5 to 11.
Sharing details of the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that teachers and non-teaching staff of Netarhat School will now be covered under the old pension scheme. The government has also approved the regularization of services for 24 non-teaching staff members appointed on contract at the Polytechnic College.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also gave its nod to the introduction of e-evidence and e-summons in the state under the new criminal laws recently enacted in the country.
It also approved changes in physical fitness norms for recruitment in the India Reserve Battalion, setting the 1600-meter race time at 6 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women.

In an another major decision, the Jharkhand government declared the indigenous Mangur fish as the state fish of Jharkhand to promote its conservation.
The cabinet also cleared amendments in recruitment regulations for the Jharkhand State Police Radio and sanctioned funds for the Giridih–Jamua road project.
Additionally, the cabinet approved the Reserve Bank of India’s draft notification for operating the Guarantee Redemption Fund. It also gave a nod to amend an earlier notification for the creation of 1,315 posts of Chief Forest Guard by surrendering an equal number of posts from the existing Forest Guard cadre under the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department.
The state government has also approved setting up STEM laboratories in one Chief Minister’s School of Excellence in each of Jharkhand’s 24 districts.
In another development, approval was granted for the construction, operation, and maintenance of Hotel Baidyanath Vihar in Deoghar as a 4-star hotel under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with an estimated cost of ₹113.97 crore.
