NEW DELHI, April 22 – Suditi Industries Ltd has appointed Harsh Agarwal as the new chief executive officer of Gini & Jony, its flagship kidswear brand, the company said in a statement on Monday. Agarwal succeeds founder and outgoing CEO Prakash Lakhani, who will transition into a mentorship role.
The decision, approved by the company’s board, has been formally communicated to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Suditi Industries said. Agarwal, who previously held a strategic leadership role within Suditi, will now spearhead the transformation of the group from a manufacturing-led business to a consumer-focused retail organization.
“This is a 45-year-old brand with significant generational goodwill,” Agarwal said. “Our core values of bringing joy to mothers and children will always be central to our identity.” Agarwal added that the company is revisiting conventional industry norms to adapt to evolving consumer behavior. “The market is rapidly changing, and our goal is to lead that change, not simply react to it,” he said.
Lakhani, who founded Gini & Jony and led the company for over four decades, will remain actively involved as a mentor. “Gini & Jony is not just a brand he built — it is his DNA,” Agarwal said. “His legacy will continue to guide us as we build on the foundation he created.”
Commenting on Agarwal’s appointment, Lakhani expressed confidence in his successor’s leadership. “I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Gini & Jony into an exciting future characterized by innovation, integrity, and genuine care,” he said. Gini & Jony, established in 1980, is one of India’s most recognized brands in children’s apparel.
