Imphal, September 8: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday called upon students and cadets to prepare for a rapidly changing technological landscape while remaining firmly rooted in discipline, integrity, patriotism and a sense of duty.Addressing an interaction with students in Manipur, the Vice President said emerging technologies were creating new opportunities for the younger generation.
He encouraged students to develop knowledge and skills in areas such as artificial intelligence, space technology, biotechnology, cybersecurity and robotics.At the same time, he emphasised that technological advancement should be accompanied by strong personal values.
He urged the cadets to remain adaptable and innovative without compromising their character and commitment to the nation.Radhakrishnan also spoke about Northeast India, describing the region as an integral and beautiful part of the country. He appreciated the contribution and hard work of its people and encouraged students to adapt to changing circumstances while retaining their positive qualities.
Referring to his visit to the Cellular Jail in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Vice President encouraged young people to visit the historic site to understand the hardships and sacrifices endured by India’s freedom fighters.
He said visits to important historical places can help younger generations develop a deeper appreciation of the country’s freedom struggle and strengthen their sense of patriotism.
Speaking about the role of students in achieving the vision of a developed India, Radhakrishnan said every young person could contribute through sincere and consistent performance of their responsibilities.He stressed that giving one’s best each day and fulfilling one’s duties responsibly could collectively contribute to the country’s progress.

Rajeev were among those present.The interaction highlighted the importance of combining technological awareness and innovation with values, national responsibility and respect for India’s history.
