Saraikela-Kharsawan, September 8: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday inaugurated a newly established Cath Lab at Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital (NSMCH) here, emphasising the need to strengthen and expand healthcare infrastructure across the state.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the facility, Gangwar said Jharkhand needed extensive work in the healthcare sector and stressed the importance of making advanced medical facilities available within the state.
“There is a need to undertake extensive work in the healthcare sector in Jharkhand,” the Governor said.
He said the expansion of modern medical facilities would help reduce the need for patients to travel outside Jharkhand for specialised treatment, enabling them to access quality healthcare closer to home.
“With the expansion of advanced medical facilities, people would no longer need to travel outside the state for treatment,” Gangwar said.
The Governor also underlined the role of private healthcare institutions in strengthening the state’s medical infrastructure. He said government and private medical institutions must work together to expand healthcare services and ensure that people have access to modern treatment facilities.
“Private medical institutions, along with government institutions, have an important role to play in expanding healthcare services,” he said.
Gangwar further emphasised that healthcare should not be limited to medical technology and infrastructure alone. He called for greater focus on the way patients are treated, stressing the importance of compassion and sensitivity in medical care.
“Along with developing modern medical technology and essential healthcare facilities, special attention should also be given to ensuring sensitive and humane treatment of patients,” he said.
Congratulating the NSMCH management and doctors on establishing the Cath Lab, the Governor expressed confidence that the new facility would strengthen cardiac healthcare services in the region and provide patients with better access to specialised treatment.
“This facility will make a significant contribution towards providing better cardiac healthcare services to the people of the region,” Gangwar said.
The inauguration of the Cath Lab marks an addition to the specialised medical facilities available at NSMCH and is expected to benefit patients requiring advanced cardiac care in the region.
