Ranchi, Sept 5: Train services on several routes in Jharkhand were affected on Saturday due to a three-hour traffic block for track maintenance between Kita and Silli railway stations, officials said.

The railway administration has taken a three-hour PQRS traffic block on the down line between the two stations to facilitate track repair and maintenance work. The block has affected the movement of several passenger and MEMU trains operating on the route.

According to the revised operational plan, the Gomo-Hatia and Ranchi-Muri services have been cancelled for September 5.

The Barddhaman-Hatia MEMU will operate only up to Gomo, while the Asansol-Ranchi MEMU will run only up to Muri.

The railway has also made changes to the routes and operations of several other trains in view of the maintenance work.

Passengers travelling through Jamtara and adjoining areas have been advised to check the latest train status and revised schedule before leaving for the station.

Railway authorities said the temporary changes have been made to facilitate essential maintenance work and ensure the safety and reliability of train operations.

The disruptions are expected to affect passengers travelling on the Ranchi-Muri, Gomo-Hatia and adjoining sections during the period of the traffic block.
