Jageshwar, Aug 27: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited the revered Jageshwar Dham in Uttarakhand on Thursday along with his family and offered prayers at the ancient temple complex.
The Governor was welcomed by priests at the temple amid the chanting of mantras. He offered prayers to Lord Jagnath and performed religious rituals seeking peace, prosperity and well-being for the people of the country and Jharkhand.
Acharya Harish Chandra Bhatt conducted the Rudrabhishek ceremony for Gangwar. After completing the ritual, the Governor visited other prominent temples located within the Jageshwar Dham complex and offered prayers.
During the visit, Gangwar also received information about the religious significance, traditions and historical importance of Jageshwar Dham. The temple complex is regarded as an important Shaivite pilgrimage site and attracts devotees from different parts of the country.
The Governor’s visit was accompanied by elaborate security arrangements made by the temple committee and local administration. Senior administrative and police officials were present at the temple during his visit.
Among those present were ADM Yukta Mishra, SDM Soumya Gartyal, Additional Superintendent of Police Harvansh Singh, Circle Officer Balwant Singh, Tehsildar Jyoti Dhapwal, Danya police station in-charge Dinesh Nath Mahant and LIU Inspector Manoj Bhardwaj, along with other officials.
Several devotees were also present on the temple premises during the Governor’s prayers. Gangwar prayed to Lord Shiva for the welfare of the nation and the state, and for happiness and prosperity among the people.
The visit concluded peacefully amid traditional religious rituals at the temple complex.
