Ranchi, Aug 26: Prime accused Abhay Kumar Tiwari has allegedly told the Jharkhand CID that seats in the general category of the 2026 Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) examination were rigged to facilitate the selection of candidates from other states in exchange for money, according to sources cited in reports.
Tiwari, who previously worked as a marketing manager with TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL), the agency engaged to conduct the examination, allegedly told investigators that almost all general-category seats in the recruitment process were manipulated.
According to the allegations, the outsourcing agency had fixed a rate of at least Rs 10 lakh per candidate for facilitating selection.
The alleged disclosures have prompted the CID to widen its investigation into irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted in the state.
Tiwari has also allegedly made claims regarding manipulation at the interview stage, adding another dimension to the ongoing probe.
The CID is investigating the allegations and is expected to examine the role of individuals associated with the examination process, the outsourcing agency and other persons who may have benefited from the alleged manipulation.
The allegations are part of an ongoing investigation, and the claims made by the accused will have to be corroborated through documentary evidence, examination records and statements of other persons involved in the recruitment process.
