Patna, Aug 23: The Bihar Education Department has tightened scrutiny of private educational institutions affiliated with the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, ordering physical inspections of all participating colleges and institutions ahead of the 2026-27 academic session.
District-level committees headed by the respective District Education Officers will conduct the inspections, which are required to be completed across the state by December 30, 2026.
The exercise will assess the academic environment and infrastructure of the institutions, including the status of land, buildings and educational facilities. Officials with expertise in land and building matters may also be included in the inspection teams, if required.
The institutions have been directed to upload the required records and documents on the designated portal between September 1 and November 30, following which the inspections will be carried out.
The Education Department has also asked participating institutions to work towards securing at least a C grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), securing a place in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings or offering courses accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
Meanwhile, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the results of the preliminary examination for the Auditor Service under the Panchayati Raj Department.
A total of 1,248 candidates have qualified for the main examination. The cutoff for the general category stood at 92 marks.
Among those selected, 702 candidates belong to the unreserved category, 138 to the Economically Weaker Section, 148 to the Scheduled Caste, 105 to the Extremely Backward Class and 105 to the Backward Class category.
The results also include 39 candidates under the women’s category, 35 under the horizontal reservation for persons with disabilities and 20 under the quota for grandchildren of freedom fighters.
