New Delhi, Jul 31: Young Indian swimmer Arjun Singh is aiming to represent the country at the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games after a series of impressive performances at national and international competitions.
Arjun has emerged as a promising talent in Indian swimming following a successful year in which he won multiple medals across major youth and national-level events.At the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, he secured two gold and two silver medals. He followed the performance with one gold and two silver medals at the Junior National Aquatic Championships.
The young swimmer also won three gold medals and set new records at the SGFI National School Games, strengthening his reputation as one of the country’s rising swimming prospects.
Arjun has represented India at the Singapore Age Group National Championships and has also competed at the National Games and the Senior National Swimming Championships, gaining valuable experience against higher-level competition.
Interestingly, swimming was not Arjun’s first sporting choice. He initially preferred playing football but began swimming at the age of eight after encouragement from his mother.Over time, the discipline, challenges and opportunity to improve through regular training drew him towards the sport.Arjun credited his mother and Satya School for supporting his sporting journey.
He said the encouragement of teachers and classmates helped him balance academic responsibilities with intensive training and competition schedules.The school also provided him access to swimming facilities outside regular hours, allowing him to continue his preparation while managing his studies.Despite his achievements, Arjun said he considers his career to be at an early stage and remains focused on improving his performance.
His long-term goal is to compete for India at the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and the Olympics and win medals for the country.
Arjun said he hopes his journey will encourage young swimmers to pursue their ambitions with discipline, dedication and consistent effort.With a growing list of achievements and experience at different levels of competition, the young swimmer is continuing his preparations as he works towards representing India on the international stage.
