Patna, July 25: The East Central Railway (ECR) on Saturday intensified security arrangements at Patna Junction and other key railway stations across Bihar as a precaution during the statewide bandh called by student organisations.
Railway officials said additional personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) were deployed at major stations to ensure passenger safety and protect railway property.
Government Railway Police (GRP) units were also placed on high alert to prevent any disruption to rail services.Security was enhanced at station entrances, exits, platforms and other sensitive locations.
Authorities closely monitored passenger movement and maintained strict surveillance to ensure normal railway operations throughout the day.
Patna Junction remained under drone surveillance, while CCTV monitoring was strengthened across major stations in the East Central Railway zone.
Additional security teams were stationed at vulnerable locations to respond quickly to any untoward incident.Railway officials said train services continued without disruption despite the bandh.
A round-the-clock control room was activated to coordinate with the GRP and district administration and monitor developments across the railway network.
Mobile Quick Response Teams (QRTs) of the RPF were also deployed at Patna Junction and other important stations to handle emergencies and respond swiftly to any security-related situation.
The railway administration appealed to passengers to cooperate with security personnel during checks and to immediately report any suspicious activity.
Officials said all necessary preventive measures had been taken to ensure the safety of passengers and the smooth operation of train services across the ECR zone.
