Ranchi, July 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday levelled serious allegations against the Jharkhand government over the functioning of the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS), claiming that companies previously blacklisted for submitting fake bank guarantees were temporarily removed from the blacklist to facilitate payments worth approximately ₹55 crore.

Addressing a press conference in Ranchi, BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah alleged that six companies engaged in skill development programmes were blacklisted in August 2024 after an inquiry by the then Mission Director found them guilty of furnishing fake bank guarantees.

The firms were reportedly debarred from government work until August 2026.Sah claimed that despite the blacklisting order, the current Mission Director allegedly revoked the restriction in October 2024 and permitted payments to the companies, citing public interest.

According to the BJP, around ₹55 crore was released to these firms during the period they were removed from the blacklist.

The BJP leader further alleged that the companies were placed on the blacklist again after senior official Vinay Choubey was jailed in August 2025 in connection with the fake bank guarantee case.

Questioning the government’s role, Sah asked why action had not been taken against senior officials of the Labour Department who allegedly approved the payments despite the earlier blacklisting order.

He demanded a high-level investigation to determine the circumstances under which the firms were removed from the blacklist and public funds were disbursed.

The BJP maintained that the matter raises serious concerns over financial accountability and transparency in the implementation of skill development programmes and called for strict action against those found responsible.

BJP media co-incharge Satish Sinha was also present at the press conference.
