Ranchi, July 13 : BJP Jharkhand President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress over the controversy surrounding donations to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, alleging that the party lacks the moral authority to raise questions on the issue.
Addressing the matter, Sahu accused the Congress of pursuing vote-bank and appeasement politics while attempting to express concern over the Ram Temple. He alleged that during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, the Congress had filed an affidavit in court describing Lord Ram as an imaginary figure and had supported the firing on kar sevaks.
The BJP leader further alleged that senior Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, had declined the invitation to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony despite the Supreme Court’s verdict paving the way for the construction of the temple.
Referring to the ongoing controversy over temple donations, Sahu said the Uttar Pradesh government was conducting a prompt investigation and that action was being taken against those found responsible.
He also maintained that the Congress should focus on its own political challenges instead of questioning the Ram Temple donation issue.
