Ranchi, July 13: A large number of students, youth, and citizens participated in a marathon in Ranchi on Sunday, raising concerns over the increasing incidents of examination paper leaks and demanding reforms to ensure transparency and fairness in the country’s examination system.
The event, held at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi Ground, was organised as part of a public awareness campaign highlighting the growing impact of paper leaks on students’ careers and the credibility of competitive examinations.
Participants called for stronger safeguards to protect the interests of aspirants and restore confidence in the education system.
Addressing the gathering, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) National In-charge Kanhaiya Kumar said repeated paper leaks have caused uncertainty among millions of students and undermined the value of hard work.
He stressed the need for an examination process that is transparent, secure, and free from irregularities.Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib said young people expect not only better employment opportunities but also a fair and honest recruitment and examination system.
He urged authorities to ensure that deserving candidates are not deprived of opportunities because of examination malpractice.
Jharkhand Congress Co-Incharge Bhupendra Maravi called for strict action against those involved in paper leak cases. He also advocated comprehensive reforms in the examination system to prevent future irregularities and strengthen public trust.
Several political leaders and public representatives attended the programme, including former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdeo Bhagat, Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Congress Legislature Party Deputy Leader Rajesh Kachhap, and other party leaders and workers.
The organisers said the campaign aimed to draw attention to the need for transparent examinations, stronger accountability, and effective measures to prevent paper leaks, ensuring equal opportunities for students across the country.
