Iran warns neighbours of continued strikes as regional tensions escalate

Tehran, 7 March: Iran has warned that it will continue targeting locations linked to its enemies in the region if neighbouring countries allow their territory to be used for attacks against the Islamic Republic.

The warning came shortly after Iran’s president issued an apology to neighbouring states amid rising regional tensions.

Iranian officials claim that some countries in the region are secretly cooperating with Tehran’s adversaries by providing strategic access or logistical support.

Iran’s judiciary chief, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, said Iranian forces had evidence that certain regional territories were being used by hostile actors.

He warned that military operations would continue against such targets.

The statement signals the possibility of further escalation across the region as tensions between Iran and its rivals intensify.

The crisis has also sparked international debate over the legality of recent military actions carried out by United States and Israel against Iranian targets. Several analysts and legal experts argue that the strikes may have breached international law.

During a recent visit to the White House, Friedrich Merz avoided publicly criticizing former U.S. president Donald Trump over the attack. However, he described the situation as a diplomatic dilemma.

Merz said decades of international efforts had failed to bring effective legal action against Iran’s leadership.

“Nothing had been achieved against the leadership of Iran via international legal measures in recent decades,” he said.

He also warned that the conflict reflects a broader decline in the global system of international cooperation.

“The rules-based international order and multilateralism are eroding,” Merz said.

As tensions continue to rise, diplomats fear the situation could deepen instability in the Middle East and further challenge the existing international order.
