Patna, Sep 23: The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, on Wednesday approved 24 proposals covering higher education, police modernisation, dairy development, healthcare and civic services.
Among the major decisions was the approval for setting up Maa Sita Mahila Vishwavidyalaya in Patna under the Bihar Special University Act, 2026. An administrative approval of Rs 15 crore has been granted for salaries and other establishment-related expenses.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar University in Begusarai, with another Rs 15 crore sanctioned for salaries and related expenses.
For strengthening the police and related departments, the Cabinet approved Rs 336.85 crore for district police, railway police, Bihar Special Armed Police, the Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau and procurement of equipment. It also cleared the purchase of 50 modern drones at a cost of Rs 24.50 crore for crowd management, riverine operations, anti-Naxal and anti-crime operations and disaster management.
The Cabinet approved dairy development projects in Supaul, Madhepura and Saharsa under Saat Nischay-3 at an estimated cost of Rs 126.07 crore. The projects include a yoghurt plant, premium ice cream plant, milk chilling facilities and other dairy infrastructure.
It also gave in-principle approval to the Bihar Veterinary Infrastructure and Service Strengthening Policy and decided to convert a Rs 41.0041-crore loan given to the Patna Municipal Corporation for employee salary payments into a grant.
The Cabinet further approved implementation of the e-Sushruta NX application in 12 medical institutions and the Bihar Boiler (Inquiry, Adjudication and Appeal) Rules, 2026.
