Bengaluru, May 31 – Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a suite of new creative tools for its Status feature, enabling users to share more personalized updates with photos, music, and interactive elements.
The latest update allows users to combine up to six images into a single collage using the new Layout tool, and incorporates music more seamlessly through music-centered statuses and stickers that reflect mood. In a statement on Thursday, the company said the changes are designed to make WhatsApp Status a “personal space” for users to share both daily moments and special occasions more expressively.
Among the new features is “Photo Stickers,” which lets users convert images into adjustable stickers that can be placed anywhere within a Status post. Another addition, the “Add Yours” sticker, invites friends to respond with their own photos, fostering more interactive storytelling. Replies can be reshared as Status updates by others.
The updates reflect Meta’s broader push to enhance user engagement across its platforms by offering tools that make content creation easier and more dynamic. WhatsApp, which has over 2 billion users globally, continues to expand its feature set amid growing competition from rivals like Telegram and Signal.
