Ramgarh, Oct 14: In a bid to assess and bolster grass-root educational initiatives in rural tribal pockets, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Wednesday conducted an extensive visit to Ekal Vidyalayas operating under the Ekal Abhiyan across Ramgarh district.

During his visits to the remote villages of Rajabeda, Ichapuri, and Bartua, the Governor interacted closely with students, local villagers, and parents, taking direct stock of community issues, educational standards, and village-level school operations.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Gangwar highlighted the critical role played by non-governmental educational movements in ensuring universal literacy. He noted that Ekal Abhiyan is making commendable strides toward ensuring no child in the country remains deprived of primary education, particularly in geographically isolated and sparsely populated stretches where access to formal government infrastructure remains a logistical challenge. He lauded the selfless dedication of rural teachers operating these single-teacher schools in difficult terrains.

Interacting with young students, the Governor urged them to cultivate curiosity, work hard, and pursue ambitious goals. Citing the inspirational life journey and struggles of President Droupadi Murmu, he called upon the youth to draw strength from her resilience to overcome adversity through education.

“Children are the nation’s most invaluable asset, and every section of society shares a collective responsibility to safeguard and shape their future,” Governor Gangwar remarked.

Addressing parents and community elders, the Governor emphasised the dual pillars of regular schooling and adequate child nutrition while sounding a stern warning against child labour. Reaffirming the state’s focus on child welfare, he stated that only educated and empowered youth can drive the sustainable development of Jharkhand and the nation at large.

During the visit, Governor Gangwar also held informal discussions with local residents to hear their civic and developmental concerns directly.
