New Delhi, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan will lead North Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2026–27, while India left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been included in the 15-member squad announced for the domestic red-ball tournament.
Delhi all-rounder Ayush Badoni has been appointed vice-captain. The squad features a mix of established domestic performers and young players seeking to strengthen their prospects for higher-level selection.Arshdeep, a regular member of India’s limited-overs teams, is expected to spearhead the pace attack.
He was part of India’s Test squad during the 2025 tour of England but did not make his Test debut.Jammu and Kashmir have six representatives in the North Zone squad following the team’s strong domestic campaign. Besides Wadhawan, the selected players are opener Qamran Iqbal, all-rounder Abdul Samad, left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq, pacer Sunil Kumar and fast bowler Yudhvir Singh.
Delhi have four players in the team, with opener Sanat Sangwan, batter Yash Dhull, middle-order player Ayush Doseja and Badoni earning selection.Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj has also been included. Nishant Sindhu, Arjun Sharma and Abid Mushtaq provide the side with additional all-round and spin-bowling options.
Veteran Jammu and Kashmir batter Paras Dogra has not been selected, while fast bowler Auqib Nabi is unavailable because of national team commitments.North Zone will face West Zone at the Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru, with the winner progressing to the semifinal stage.
