Ranchi, Mar 20 : and students at Khadhaiya Upgraded High School held a condolence meeting on Tuesday to mourn the murder of Sonu Kumar, a former student and school topper, officials said.
Sonu Kumar, a resident of Teliyadih, had secured the top rank in the 2023 annual secondary examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council. Described as a sensitive and disciplined student, his death has left the school community in shock.
During the meeting, teachers and students paid tribute and observed silence for the peace of his soul. School headmaster Anil Das said, “After the board examination, he had gone to Hazaribagh for further studies. We were always hopeful for his bright future.”
Several teachers, including Rohit Kumar, Raju Kumar, Suraj Choubey, Prasidh Narayan Singh, Vinita Sinha, Laxman Singh, Keshav Prajapati, Dhaneshwar Ram, Kumari Anita, Vibha Kumari, and Shashi Kujur, were present at the meeting, along with all students of the school.
Local authorities have not yet released details on the circumstances surrounding Sonu’s murder. Further developments are awaited.
