New Delhi, Sep 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to celebrated Bengali author Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay on his 150th birth anniversary, recalling the enduring influence of his literary works and their contribution to understanding Indian society.In a message marking the occasion, Modi said Chattopadhyay’s writings offered a sensitive and realistic portrayal of 19th-century India, particularly the social conditions of rural Bengal.
