Ranchi, May 16: Jharkhand government has approved Rs 1.40 billion for renovation of state owned hospitals and health centers along with colour coding.
According to sources in state health department the amount of Rs 1.40 billion will be spent under the Chief Minister Hospital Operation and Maintenance Scheme.
Under the scheme, government hospitals and health centers of the entire state including Kolhan and East Singhbhum will be renovated.
Under this, color coding of hospital buildings will also be done. For this, the department has fixed colors for hospitals of all grades. Now Sadar Hospital will be seen in white and community health centers in pink.
After repair, the buildings will be painted with these colors, so that it will be possible to identify which category of medical center that building belongs from outside.
This amount has been allocated for the maintenance of already built health sub-centers, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Primary Health Center, Community Health Center, Sub-division and District Hospital buildings in the state.
According to officials Rs 75 lakh will be given every year for Sadar hospitals. Fixed amount will also be given for other health centers. This will be used for repair of buildings, painting, repair of boundary walls, electricity, water, cleanliness, seating arrangements, medicines and medical equipment.
The different colours to be applied on various grades of hospitals are as follows: Sadar Hospital: white, Sub-divisional Hospital: light yellow, CHC: light pink, PHC (primary health centers): light blue, Health Sub-Center/Ayushman Arogya Mandir: yellow metallic.
While Sadar Hospital: Rs 75 lakh per year, Sub-divisional Hospital: Rs 50 lakh, CHC/Referral Hospital: Rs 10 lakh, PHC: Rs 5 lakh and health Sub-Center/Ayushman Center: Rs 2 lakh.
