Ranchi, May 7: Political leaders cutting across party lines in Jharkhand welcomed Operation Sindoor carried out by security forces against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday lauded the ‘Operation Sindoor’ through their social media handles.

“Jai Hind…Operation Sindoor”, Jharkhand CM Soren posted on X while sharing the poster of Operation Sindoor.

Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth wrote on social media, “This is the new India. Where whatever you want happens. Those who dared to destroy the vermilion of our sisters and daughters in Pahalgam and to raise their eyes towards India got a befitting reply, justice was done. Jai Hind! Jai Hind ki Sena!! Bharat Mata ki Jai!!”

Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Babulal Marandi has welcomed the action of the Indian Army and said that the time has come to raze the remaining land of the terrorists to the soil.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Army has started a decisive battle against Islamic terrorism, respecting the public sentiments. The Indian Army, in its well-known style, has displayed amazing valor and bravery and has destroyed the terrorist hideouts by entering the enemy’s house. Those who even raise their eyes towards our country the heads of terrorists and their leaders will be crushed.

Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari has welcomed the action of the Indian Army by writing “Jai Hind” on social media. He wrote, “Operation Sindoor was carried out against Pakistan under the pressure of Congress. The brave soldiers of our country have carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’ by taking a historic and bold step.”

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Indian Army targeted nine locations responsible for terrorist activities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Ansari further wrote, citing the statement of the Ministry of Defense, “No Pakistani military facility was targeted in this operation. Its purpose was only to destroy those terrorist bases from where attacks were being plotted against India.”

Former Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur told news agencies that the entire party stands in support of the bold action of the Indian Army.

“The whole country was in mourning after the Pahalgam incident. Our national president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi had clearly said that we will stand with the central government in every decision and whatever action the armed forces take, we will support it with solidarity,” said Thakur.

He said that we have attacked terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. Pakistan should be happy that it was unable to take action against terrorism. We have helped it, he said.
