Jamshedpur, June 29: Loyola School marked its 66th Annual Prize Nite on Saturday with a ceremony celebrating academic, sporting and co-curricular achievements, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education.
The event was headlined by Chief Guest Fr Jerry Cutinha, S.J., Provincial of the Jamshedpur Jesuit Province, who applauded the school’s emphasis on excellence rooted in human values. Fr Cutinha urged the students to continue striving for excellence in keeping with the spirit of Magis. He emphasised the need to be excellent in human values along with academic excellence. He appreciated the school management for their dedication and hard work.
Other dignitaries included Rector Fr K.M. Joseph, Principal Fr Vinod Fernandes, Treasurer Fr Gerald D’Souza, Vice Principals Jayanthi Sheshadri and Vineeta F. Ekka, along with former principals Fr Pius Fernandes and Fr Victor Misquith.

The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Shambhavee Jayaswaal, who secured a perfect 100% in the ICSE board examinations, earning her the distinction of National ICSE Topper. The ceremony also honoured the long-standing service of Anamitra Dutta and Sanchita Ghosh, both of whom are set to retire, as they participated in the academic procession alongside other faculty members.
Numerous awards and scholarships were distributed, acknowledging not only scholastic achievement but also perseverance, integrity, and overall development. Cultural performances, including dance and music, added a festive atmosphere to the proceedings.
In his vote of thanks, Principal Fr Vinod Fernandes commended both students and teachers for their dedication and urged the student body to continually aim higher. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, bringing to a close an evening that blended celebration with reflection on Loyola’s enduring legacy.
