Ranchi, May 21: Palamu Police has achieved a major success. Police has arrested Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) sub-zonal commander Gautam Yadav, who was injured in an encounter with TSPC militants on May 17.
The ultra was arrested from Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. The injured Gautam was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Varanasi.
ASP Rakesh Kumar Singh said that on May 17, the police had an encounter with TSPC militants in the forest of Baskatiya on the hill above Jaspur in Manatu police station area. TSPC sub-zonal commander Gautam Yadav was shot in the encounter with the squad of 10 lakh rewarded militants Shashikant and Gautam. After the encounter, he fled in an injured state. Meanwhile, Palamu SP Rishma Rameshan received information that the injured Naxalite was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
After this, a team was formed under the leadership of ASP Rakesh Kumar Singh and sent to Varanasi, where sub-zonal commander Gautam Yadav was arrested from a hospital. At present, he is undergoing treatment in police custody. During the encounter, the Naxalite was shot in the stomach.
