Ranchi, May 16: Senior BJP leader and former Jamshedpur district president Devendra Singh has accused the Jharkhand government of corruption in the Maiya Samman scheme meant for poor women.
The BJP leader also called it an anti-national conspiracy.
He said that the Jharkhand government has benefited Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators by bypassing the rights of the tribals under this scheme. Singh claimed that in many panchayats of East Singhbhum district, Muslim women got benefit despite not being present in the locality.
He claimed that their bank accounts have been found in Bengal.
Baghrai Soren, head of Kalkapur Panchayat of Potka, also revealed that there is not a single Muslim family in his village, yet 27 Muslim women are getting the benefit of the scheme.
Devendra Singh alleged that thousands of fake beneficiaries are benefiting from this scheme across Jharkhand. He has demanded an investigation into the matter by the CBI and NIA and has also talked about sending a complaint letter to Home Minister Amit Shah. Terming it as vote bank politics, Singh has made a serious allegation against the state government of giving protection to the infiltrators.
