Ranchi, july 16: The Jharkhand government’s Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha has suspended the ongoing recruitment process for 864 clerk posts in various government departments, citing the implementation of newly approved recruitment rules.
The decision is expected to delay the appointment of candidates who had applied for these vacancies.According to official sources, the Personnel Department has instructed the concerned departments to withdraw the recruitment requisitions that were earlier forwarded to the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) for conducting the recruitment process.
The vacancies were distributed across the regional offices of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Mines and Geology Department, Labour, Employment and Training Department, and the Higher and Technical Education Department.
These departments had previously submitted proposals for recruitment, following which the Personnel Department recommended that JSSC initiate the selection process.
JSSC had released recruitment advertisements for the clerk posts in 2023 and again in 2024, attracting a large number of applicants.
However, the process has now been halted following the state cabinet’s approval of a revised set of recruitment rules for clerical appointments.
Officials said future recruitment for these posts will now be conducted under the new rules to ensure a uniform and updated selection process.
The Personnel Department is expected to formally notify JSSC to withdraw the earlier recruitment notifications after receiving consent from all the concerned departments.
The move has created uncertainty among thousands of aspirants who were awaiting the next stage of the recruitment process.
Government officials, however, maintain that the revised recruitment framework aims to streamline future appointments and ensure compliance with the updated regulations.
