Kolkata, Feb 06 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday emphasized the economic and industrial potential of his state while urging business leaders to invest in the region during the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) in Kolkata. Soren highlighted the shared similarities between Jharkhand and West Bengal, stressing the importance of collaboration for the “betterment of the country.”

Soren, personally invited to the event by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, said, Our state has massive contributions to the country’s economy. It is only 25 years since Jharkhand was formed, but it has become a significant source of minerals and raw materials. We have a lot to offer in industries related to mining, textiles, and tusser production, where Jharkhand leads the country.”

Acknowledging the geographic and cultural ties between the two states, Soren noted, The two states have much in common, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between the two. I welcome you all to Jharkhand. I hope that today, Bengal and Jharkhand can continue to progress together.”

Praising Mamata Banerjee’s industrial efforts, he said, The efforts made by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to bring industries to Bengal are commendable, and we can certainly work together for the betterment of our country.”

Soren further underscored Jharkhand’s role as a leader in key industries and invited investors to explore the state’s potential. He stressed that both Jharkhand and West Bengal could benefit from working together to drive economic growth and attract investments.

Both Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) are members of the Opposition INDIA bloc alliance, a political grouping of regional and national parties.
