Jamshedpur, April 16: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal on Tuesday presided over the weekly public hearing (Janta Darbar) at the Collectorate office in Jamshedpur, where he listened to a wide range of complaints from local residents and assured prompt redressal.

Citizens from various parts of the district brought forward both personal and public grievances, including issues related to shop allotments, school fee hikes, electricity supply, land disputes, and job appointments.

According to officials, many of the applications were resolved on the spot, while others were forwarded to the relevant departments for further action. Mittal directed block-level and district officers, including BDOs and COs, to act in coordination and ensure timely resolution of complaints.

“District officers and block-level officials must coordinate and act promptly on Janta Darbar applications to prevent unnecessary hardship for citizens visiting government offices,” Mittal instructed during the hearing.

Concerns raised during the session included pending watchman appointment lists, requests for employment in Apna Bazaar, public welfare demands, and disputes involving convoy drivers and family matters.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of responsiveness and accountability among government officials to improve trust and efficiency in public service delivery.
