CRPF Sub-Inspector injured in IED blast during Anti-Naxal Operation in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Mar 19 : A CRPF sub-inspector was injured in an IED explosion on Tuesday during an anti-Naxal operation in a forest in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, police said.

The injured officer, Subodh Kumar, was airlifted to Ranchi for treatment. Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar stated that his condition is stable, as reported by PTI.

The incident occurred near Radha Poda village in Jaraikela, where CRPF personnel stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) suspectedly planted by Maoists to target security forces.

Earlier, Naxals started indiscriminate firing at a joint team of security forces, prompting retaliatory firing by the personnel.

The anti-Naxal operation was ongoing, the Superintendent of Police added.
