Ranchi, July 18: The political war of words between the Congress and the BJP intensified in Jharkhand after Congress Media In-charge Rakesh Sinha addressed an open letter to Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, questioning the BJP’s governance record during its tenure in the state.
In the letter, Sinha alleged that Marandi has relied on press conferences, public statements, and open letters as his primary political strategy instead of playing the role of a constructive opposition by raising public concerns in the Assembly.
He claimed that whenever issues such as development, employment, investment, education, healthcare, or the welfare of tribal and indigenous communities are discussed, the Leader of Opposition focuses on making allegations against the state government rather than offering concrete suggestions or policy alternatives.
The Congress leader further alleged that Marandi frequently criticizes the government through media interactions and written communications, but does not explain what achievements the BJP delivered during the period it governed Jharkhand.
Sinha urged the BJP to account for its own performance in office instead of limiting its political campaign to criticism of the present administration.
The letter is the latest development in the ongoing political confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition in Jharkhand.
As of now, no response from Babulal Marandi or the BJP regarding the allegations mentioned in the letter was included in the report.
