Jamshedpur, July 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a search operation at a residence in Saraswati Nagar under the Golmuri area of Jamshedpur on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged cyber fraud case.
A team of CBI officials arrived at the premises in the morning and carried out a detailed search that continued for several hours.
The operation drew the attention of local residents as investigators examined documents, electronic devices and other materials believed to be relevant to the inquiry.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, officials questioned the occupant of the house and reviewed mobile phones, computers and digital records to identify possible links with suspected online financial fraud.
Investigators are also examining electronic communication and transaction records to determine whether the case is connected to a wider cybercrime network operating across multiple states.
No official information was released regarding any seizure or arrest during the operation.
The CBI has also not disclosed the identity of the individual questioned or the specific allegations being investigated.
Sources indicated that the search in Jamshedpur is part of a broader effort to investigate organised cyber fraud and financial crime.
Investigators are expected to analyse the digital evidence collected before deciding on further action.
Officials maintained that the inquiry is at an early stage, and additional details will be shared only after the examination of the evidence is completed.
Cybercrime agencies across the country have intensified action against online fraud, including phishing, digital arrest scams, identity theft and other internet-based financial offences.
Authorities continue to advise citizens to remain cautious while sharing personal or banking information online and to promptly report suspected cybercrime through the appropriate channels.
